CONNECTICUT THEATER FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES SHEILA'S DAY in collaboration with the Hartford Stage Company

A Triumphant Musical Celebration!
Sheila's Day is an exhilarating celebration of the human spirit that is set in Perry County, Alabama, and Soweto Township, Johannesburg, South Africa during the turbulent 1960's. This musical drama is a timeless history of racial struggles in both countries that follows two women and their extraordinary stories as it parallels the civil rights movement in the United States and apartheid in South Africa. A cast of South African and African-American women represent the domestic workers of the world known collectively as "Sheilas." Their high-energy movement and dance set to rousing blues and gospel and stirring Zulu chants become a focal point of this joyous production that raises the spirit and provides
a collective sense of triumph.
The production of Sheila's Day will take place at The Roberts Center Theatre at Kingswood Oxford School, West Hartford, CT.
